Alcohol & Drug Treatment at Twelve Oaks Recovery
Twelve Oaks Recovery Center provides a supportive environment that will assist you as you learn a new way to live, free from the bonds of addiction and/or chronic pain. Individuals affected by drug addiction and alcoholism know that their life is out of control, and that addiction has rendered them unable to maintain control over mood-altering substances. They have become victims of a compulsive disorder and an uncontrollable dependency on chemicals which inevitably destroys their lives.
At Twelve Oaks, we know that addiction affects the entire family. For the family and the addicted family member, life begins to deteriorate as social relationships weaken, children are neglected or abused, jobs are in jeopardy or are lost, finances are in disarray, and in some cases, hospitalization or legal problems occur. Addiction becomes a reality when the use of alcohol or other drugs interferes with the person's health, family, job or social life—when one or more aspects of life become unmanageable as a result of chemical dependency. However, effective drug rehabilitation and alcohol treatment is available for both the addict and their family.
Twelve Oak's drug rehabilitation center is a private, free-standing, 101 bed, chronic pain and alcohol/drug recovery center located in the Florida Panhandle. The five-acre campus borders a sandy beach and provides a serene setting for its distinctive treatment programs.
Twelve Oaks is licensed by the Florida Department of Children and Families and is fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.
The Twelve Oaks addiction treatment program is patterned after the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA). Within this pattern of treatment, an individualized treatment plan is designed based on the specific needs of each patient. Our program has been developed by leading experts in the field of chemical dependency and incorporates a multi-disciplinary approach based on the best practices to accomplish the following key objectives:
- Identify the need for chemical dependency treatment using:
- Comprehensive diagnostic evaluation
- Developmental history
- Psychological testing
- History and physical examination
- Social history
- Self-assessment
- A meeting at the end of the evaluation period reviews finding and recommends a treatment approach, if needed.
- Provide comprehensive treatment and recovery services.
- Treat the specific and unique needs of each patient.
- Provide each patient with the opportunity to develop a proper foundation in recovery through a combination of:
- Group Therapy
- Experiential Group Therapy
- Relapse Prevention Group Therapy
- Individual Therapy sessions with the counselor
- Psycho-educational lectures
- Discharge planning following drug treatment that will prepare the patient for re-entry to society as a sober person by addressing questions and concerns regarding what will happen when they return home. In addition to relapse prevention issues, they learn how to deal with friends, social situations and triggers during treatment, along with strategies to assist in dealing with those situations.
